time:6.07am
Now that I am famous and all, you'd expect that my life would be much more glamorous and exciting. You'd expect that, but you'd be wrong. I really need to start hiring some minions soon. Where do you find minions, anyway? I don't think a Craigslist ad would do it.

I was exhausted yesterday. I don't know if it was the weather, or the hangover (I might have had a tiny one of those. Damn those Jameson Cokes anyway..), or the three days in a row of water aerobics that finally got to me. I started whining at ragazz' at about 6:30. "Is it too early to go to sleep yet??" I made myself stay up til 9:00. I feel much better today.

I spent some time this weekend getting the holiday decorations done. After four years of planning the Holiday Hoedowns, I finally have enough tree and house decorations to have some carry-over. Because matching is important in cheleVille, the tree must be perfectly coordinated. (Yes, I put this kind of pressure on myself every day. Why? Only my therapist can answer that.)  I've done a pink/pearl tree, a red/green tree, and a blue and white tree. This year's tree theme is Santa/Snowman/Toys. Lots of my red and green decorations can carry over, and the dollar spot at Target and a few hours with glue dots, styrofoam and glitter pens will do the rest.

The work week kicks off with the Fargo conference call at 8:30, and ends with a pie-eating contest on Friday at 3:00. In-between there will be much hullabaloo, I'm sure.

Have a good day. Ciao.

This is nothing serious yet, but I've been pondering giving up improvisation.

Haven't really talked about it with anyone yet and have some shows in the pipeline, but, you know, I could be done.

The whole thing with Sad Clown Rep's implosion this summer has sort of taken two decades worth of wind out of my sails.

Yesterday my grandpa died. It wasn't unexpected since he was on hospice. Still, he had a strong body. I am pretty sure if he hadn't had a DNR they would have been able to save him. However, he was 89 years old and had Parkinson's so badly that dressing him was very much of an ordeal. Plus he has been so hard of hearing and out of it for the last 5 or 6 years you couldn't really talk to him. However, that isn't the grandpa I'll remember. I'll remember the grandpa that made me stuff with my name on it because you couldn't get toys with them. The grandpa that would were silly hats and suspenders. The grandpa that showed me how to grow things, how to drive a tractor and how to butcher a chicken. The grandpa that always had a silly joke to tell us and the one that took my brother and I across the US on a road trip. I'll miss him a lot but in a lot of ways I have already mourned him.

On another note, I don't know if it was stress of yesterday or what but I had a migraine that wouldn't respond to anything yesterday. Multiple Imitrex, Advil, caffeine and even a vicodin. Nothing worked but at least the vicodin made it so I could sleep. I woke up this morning with one still and I am hoping that it will respond today.

subject:In which I am now famous.
time:1.32pm
Well then. I am famous. In my own mind, and, apparently, in the St. Paul Pioneer Press as well. I got an email a couple of weeks back from the writer (Thanks, Alleen!) asking if she could use a quote from my blog in an article. Because I love attention (good or bad), I agreed. I had no idea that the article would be this big a deal. The coolest thing of all is that my little blog is mentioned right along with other bloggers who I really admire.

So welcome to you if you've found me through the link in the article. Sit down and stay awhile, and I'll make you some food and tell you a few stories.

Last night we drove to Southern Canada, took a left, and we were at Hidden Haven Golf Course Bar and Grill (and probably clubhouse, too, but that would have made the name too long). My co-worker's band, Snaggletoof, was the evening's entertainment. Good music and even better people watching.
We saw a guy in a hot-rod wheelchair. Literally, if you could turn a wheelchair into a monster truck, this guy had done that. He'd been injured in a swimming accident a couple years back. Young guy, maybe 22, 23. It would have been easy to feel sorry for him, but he was very matter of fact about the whole thing, and was happy to just be alive. He spent the night doing doughnuts out on the dance floor (he said he didn't get dizzy from them. I had the whirlies just watching him) and chatting up everyone in the bar.

If I ever start complaining about my lot in life, I'm gonna remember Tim.

So it's lazy Sunday (I slept til 10. What?) and now that we've finally got moving and breakfasted, it's time to finish up with the Christmas crafting. Wait 'til you see the tree, yo. Then laundry and all the mundane things in life. I kinda thought when I hit the big time as the famous blogger I'd have people to do all this. What the hell, man?
Heh. It's your job to keep me in check. Okay? Thanks.

Ciao.

subject:65 in November.

Today must be Native American Summer. Is that politically correct? No.. that somehow sounds even worse. My papa was the king of the sounding-even-worse thing. He'd say "Don't say that you're p*ssed off, say that you're urinated off!" and "Don't tell them to go to hell, tell them to go to the dark underworld!"

I don't know if it kept us from swearing or not.. but it made us laugh every time. It still makes me laugh.

It's 65 and gorgeous out there. Ragazz' is off on what will most likely be the final motorcycle ride of the year, and I had the last top-down ride in the convertible. I put away almost all the deck furniture. The only thing I don't like about days like today is that all the crawly bugs come out in force.. and those weird Asian Lady Bugs get into the house. *shudder* I hate those things. There are three of 'em in here right now, and after this I'm gonna grab the vacuum cleaner and get them.

I did all the decoration shopping for the Holiday Hoedown and didn't make a single trip to Litin Paper. This year, the $1 section at Target had literally every single thing I needed. YAY.

I went to Splash Class this morning (3 days in a row of splashing.. I am WORN OUT), and I got to wear my new water fitness shoes. I used to mock the people who wore these. Now I understand the wonderfulness of them. It's so much easy to run the length of the pool when you have traction. And no more having to watch every step so that you don't run into the grate.
I found out that there's a class on Monday nights at the Edina club. Hmmm.. do I want to add another night???

Tonight we're going to hear some live music at a very redneck bar near Canada (or Blaine, maybe.). My co-worker is in the band. It should be a good time.

I miss the kitties. I don't know when that will stop.

And now it's time to go outside and play for a while, I believe. Ciao Bellas. Happy Day.

Will and I are talking about getting a Wii for Christmas and now I'm obsessed with them. I've spent a lot of time lately researching games, and revisiting my gamecube games, and it's true that if we don't get one now I'll be a little heartbroken.

I have this awesome student in the library who is a gamer, and I asked her to find some games I'd like. Ha. It's weird being a library supervisor.

Anyway, I started listening to the podcast from The Wiire and I really like it. I like their blog too. This review makes Little King's Story sound like my perfect game. Still, I'd happily take game recommendations from the rest of you, if you've got a Wii!

This morning I went to the post office to buy stamps and mail off [info]gwangi's sister's birthday present. I also needed to pick up a package that I had gotten a card for. When the postman brought my package out I realized it was a birthday present from Zach's mom. I almost started crying right there because I have never gotten a present from a boyfriend's family before. It doesn't even matter what it is, it just felt awesome.

Of course, then I left the post office without buying stamps.

(By the way, I know my English isn't that great in this post, I have a migraine again and I am in the "forget how to form sentences phase of it).

subject:Did I tell you how I love vacation days?
time:8.05am
I looked at the calendar yesterday and decided that today could be vacation day. Work is going to ramp up through November and early December.. better take time when I can.

Ragazz' found out that the deadline for the project from hell.. the one that was making him work 24 hour days routinely, has been pushed back until after the holidays. Thank God. This means that they can all take their time and get things done RIGHT.. and they don't need to work crazy long days to do it.
Can I say it again? Thank God.

So.. wow... I get to see him without a computer in front of him! We've actually gone OUT for dinner two nights in a row. We hardly know what to do with ourselves! It's a good good thing.

After work I went to Splash Class. One of our regular instructors - the one who's due in February - isn't teaching anymore. Now she's taking the class with us while another instructor teaches. It was fun. At one point, during our water sprints (which could be used as a tool at Guantanamo, I'm pretty sure) she started yelling "I'M SORRY I EVER MADE YOU GUYS DO THESE.. THESE ARE TERRIBLE!" Ha!

Well, they must not be TOO terrible, because I'm getting ready to go to class again this morning.

We went to Brasa for dinner, and I had happiness on a plate. Also known as pulled pork samich with gingered mayo and pickled onions. Mmmmmmmm.

After splashing, I'm off to do some tree decoration shopping. I have all the essentials... I just need a few extras, most of which can be found at the dollar and/or thrift store. I am savvy decorating girl. Heh.

Ready... Go. Have a good day. Ciao.

I'm not sure what it says about me that the first scene I thought of was the kiss in Never Been Kissed. I kind of love that ridiculous movie.

But I should really say something more like Wesley tumbling down the hill in The Princess Bride and Buttercup throwing herself after him. Or really anything from that movie.

  • 16:19 @sarlinhilt Hopefully we'll hear something beforehand, but works for me! :) #

  • 20:04 I remember back in the days of Sidewalk.com, hitting up Pizza Luce for a slice and Sister Fun next door for random weird tchotchkees. #
  • 20:30 Oh, that's right--the Fine Line aint as fine as it was for October Project in '93. Get raped for beer, no tbls/chairs unless u shell out $$. #
  • 22:21 I'm dyin ovah heah! These damn kids can stand all damn night, but they need a seating section for the over-32 set. Allison is up next. #
  • 23:15 Enjoyed four AFF songs then had to go--my back and neck were killing me! Sitting on a bus bench has never felt so luxurious. #

...may want to check out this excellent [info]therealljidol entry by [info]rattsu. I don't often plug stuff, as most of you know, but not only is this a great piece about loving a band and finally getting to see them, the band he celebrates - At The Gates - actually rocks pretty hard.

I mean, if you like Metal.

If you don't like Metal, its probably just going to sound like thump thump thump scream shred shred to you.

Anyhow, I liked it.
